Idea and Inspiration
For this project I decided to show a video of what a minimalist suitcase packing experience might look like, which relates to my overall travel theme.
Design Process
I was inspired by many other packing videos I’ve seen over the years. For most of the video I used either a time-lapse to speed up the packing process or an app called Stop Motion that that blends photos together using the jump cut method.
Technical Detail
I used my own clothes, suitcase, and other travel items to create the video. It was all shot on my iphone with a small portable phone tripod. Other than the time-lapse and the jump cut I also included an establishing shot of the suitcase.
Sources and Materials
I struggled with the timing. I realize it is too short, as I plan to slow down all the videos to not make them all so rushed, which will add length to the overall video in the final draft. I also plan to add a title and background music to the final version, but was struggling with that as well.
My video is too short. Originally I thought the process would take longer, but with the stylistic choices I made it became very short. I am hoping to figure out how to slow it all down to meet the length requirements for the final version. I am also planning to add a title and audio in the final version, but have been struggling with the technology and was not able to add them for the draft version. I do like the time-lapse and the jump cut techniques. I think it makes it more fun to watch.

Jackson,
To begin with, I thought the video that you have transitioned well and so far I think you have a strong idea to work with. You could do a lot with your video and I just have a couple of suggestions for you. To start with I would suggest that you add a little bit of audio to your video just to make it a little bit more entertaining to watch. In the com210 website there is a link to a website that offers free downloads of music that is free to edit. I would also suggest adding a little bit of text in the video for the introduction. Just because it was a little bit hard to understand where the video was headed until you watched the very end. At least that is how it was in my experience. So to fix this I would clearly introduce what the topic of the video is. For example you could do something like Introduction to:How to pack light. In the end of the video I would also suggest that you give some credentials to the video. Such as who it was recorded by. Overall, I think that the video you have is great and I hope to see what the final draft looks like.
